A twelve-person outsourcing shop in Singapore's CBD used to open three browser tabs just to check whether last month's payroll had cleared. That's the sliver of daily friction Osome is now chipping away at. On 2026-07-27, Osome launched a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. It lets founders query business data straight from an AI assistant instead of logging into the dashboard at all.
The server talks to Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini. A founder can ask for transactions, shareholder records, or a financial report in plain language and get an answer without touching a browser. Osome pitched the release at Singapore's growing pile of AI-native founders and solopreneurs. These are people who already run half their business through a chat window and don't want accounting to be the one thing that still needs a login screen. I'd call it a smart bet on where founder habits are already heading, not a gimmick tacked onto a roadmap for a press cycle. No pricing change came with it, either: Osome's core accounting, incorporation, and compliance tiers stayed exactly where they were before the announcement.
What I'm less sure about is whether a shareholder record request through a chat window is actually faster than the dashboard once you factor in double-checking the AI's answer against the source document. For a quick balance check, sure. For anything that ends up on a tax filing, I'd still open the dashboard.

Talenox quietly removed something a lot of small Singapore and Malaysia employers relied on: a permanent free plan. Effective 2026-01-05, every tier moved to per-employee billing. The change was announced on Talenox's own blog under the blunt headline "Important: Talenox Pricing Changes Starting Today."
If you only need Payroll or Leave on its own, the new Single App tier runs SGD 25 a month for the first five active employees. After that it's SGD 5 a month per additional full-timer and SGD 2.50 per part-timer. Bundle both into the SUITE tier and it's SGD 40 a month for the first five staff, SGD 8 per additional full-timer, and SGD 4 per part-timer. Outside Singapore, SUITE starts at USD 20 a month for the first five employees plus USD 4 per additional full-timer, and annual billing shaves off roughly 15% versus paying monthly.
New signups still get a 30-day free trial of the full SUITE plan with no credit card required, so you're not locked in blind before you commit. But let's be honest about what changed here: a five-person team that used to run payroll for free now pays real money every month. For a bootstrapped agency in Singapore or a small manufacturer in Johor Bahru, SGD 40 a month sounds trivial. Stack it next to a dozen other SaaS subscriptions doing the same thing, and it isn't.

Sprout Solutions
A Manila HR manager juggling payroll across three separate legal entities has been waiting on Sprout Solutions' Payroll Sidekick for months now. It's an AI-powered payroll feature built for multi-company payroll at Philippine businesses running more than one entity. Company-linked coverage has called it a "soon" launch since May 2026 without ever naming a date or a price.
Payroll Sidekick would join tools already live inside Sprout's platform: Sprout Info, Concierge, and HR Link, all built to cut down routine HR and payroll busywork. Sprout keeps marketing its payroll engine as built from the ground up for Philippine statutory compliance: government filings, contributions, payslip generation. That's a different pitch than an offshore product with local rules bolted on afterward. The distinction matters more than Sprout's marketing copy lets on, since compliance software built as an afterthought tends to break exactly when a new BIR rule lands mid-quarter.
Still, "soon" has now stretched past three months with nothing more concrete than a company blog post to show for it. I'd hold off recommending Payroll Sidekick to anyone who needs multi-entity payroll working this quarter. No subscription pricing change turned up for Sprout's existing Payroll or HR modules either, so current customers aren't paying anything extra to wait.

Osome's MCP server, shipped 2026-07-27, is a feature release with zero pricing impact on existing customers. Sprout's Payroll Sidekick is disclosed but still undated. Treat it as roadmap, not shipped product, until Sprout actually names a release date and a price.
Zoom out and a pattern shows up across all three: AI features are arriving faster than pricing changes are, and pricing changes are arriving faster than actual product launches. That's not a coincidence. Announcing an MCP server costs nothing. Retiring a free tier is a decision finance already made months earlier. Shipping multi-entity payroll software that survives contact with Philippine tax code takes real engineering time, and Sprout is clearly still spending it.
If you're running payroll anywhere in Singapore, Malaysia, or the Philippines this month, only one of these three vendors actually changes your bill: Talenox. The other two are worth watching, not budgeting for yet. The same gap between announcement and delivery shows up constantly across Southeast Asian SaaS. A fintech in Bangkok or a logistics platform in Jakarta will promise an AI layer, then ship it a quarter after the press release.
