Privacy Policy

The short version: there are no accounts on this site, we do not sell data, and the only thing running by default is Google Analytics — which does not load at all until you interact with the page.

What we collect

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (property G-ZVSWDEGNJX) to understand which pages are read and which searches lead nowhere. It records the usual: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser, and how you arrived. The GA4 script is deliberately deferred and loads on your first interaction with the page, so a visitor who reads and leaves without interacting is largely unmeasured. We accept the blind spot in exchange for the page weight.

Email, only if you offer it. There is no signup form on this site. If you write to us — to join the weekly brief, to correct a listing, or to submit a tool — we hold the address you sent from and use it for that purpose alone. We do not sell, rent or share lists, and replying once is enough to be removed.

No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for, so there are no passwords, profiles or purchase histories here.

02

Cookies, including affiliate cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish one visit from another. Blocking them costs you nothing on this site.

Separately, when you click a link to a tool we have an affiliate relationship with, that vendor’s affiliate network — PartnerStack and others — may set a cookie on their own domain so a later signup is attributed to us. That happens on their side, under their privacy policy, and only after you choose to click. Which listings are affiliate listings, and why that never moves a score, is set out in our Terms of Service.

03

Who else sees your data

Google (analytics), our hosting provider (server logs), our email provider if you write to us, and any affiliate network whose link you click. That is the complete list. We run no advertising pixels, no session recorders, and no data brokers.

04

Your choices

You can block analytics cookies in your browser or with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and nothing on the site will break. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be deleted, or unsubscribe from the brief at any time — one email to the address below is enough, and we do not require you to explain why.

05

Children

This is a business-software directory. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

06

Changes to this policy

If what we collect changes, this page changes with it and the revision date at the top moves.
