Mampu AI Review 2026: Can It Stop WhatsApp Questions Burying a Malaysian SME?
The pattern is familiar to anyone running a small Malaysian business. Customers message on WhatsApp at 10pm asking the price, the delivery area, whether you are open on Sunday. If the same few questions keep arriving, someone on the team answers them between real tasks, replies get slow, and some buyers drift to a competitor who answered faster. Hiring a support person for that is expensive, and a plain auto-reply does not understand the question.
Mampu AI is a no-code AI agent platform that claims to cover exactly this gap. This review checks what the vendor publishes about it, what it costs, and who should look elsewhere. Everything here is drawn from the vendor's published pages, and where a page is silent we say so rather than guess.
What problem is Mampu AI actually built for?
Mampu AI's homepage describes the product as helping businesses "reply instantly, capture leads, and automate follow-up across WhatsApp, website chat, Facebook, Instagram and more". The company's own WhatsApp article spells out the job in three parts: understanding customer intent and answering with business-specific information, collecting names and contact details to qualify leads by interest, budget or need, and escalating to a human when needed.
That is a narrow, useful scope. It is a front-line responder and lead catcher, not a full helpdesk or a team inbox with ticketing. If your pain is repetitive first-contact questions and missed leads, the scope matches. If your pain is coordinating ten agents across thousands of live chats, it does not.
How does it work, and how much setup is involved?
The homepage advertises a "30-sec setup flow" with guided onboarding available, no setup fee and no contract period. Treat the 30 seconds as a marketing figure for the first connection step. Teaching an AI agent your prices, policies and tone is the real work, and no page we read gives a time estimate for it.
The vendor says a human can take over a conversation "anytime", which matters more than any feature on the list. An AI agent that cannot hand an upset customer to a person will cost you more than it saves.
Channels are listed as WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and web chat, plus TikTok and Telegram, with the homepage claiming "10+ channels supported". The WhatsApp article says the bot supports English, Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese. One caveat from the pricing page: it does not mention WhatsApp Business API fees at all. Confirm how Meta's WhatsApp Business fees are billed before you budget.
What does Mampu AI cost?
The pricing page lists plans in Malaysian ringgit. Pricing is by Monthly Active Contacts (MAC), not by message volume, which changes how you budget.
| Plan | Price | Monthly active contacts | Users | Channels |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free Builder | RM0 forever | 50 | 2 | 1 |
| Lite | RM99/month | 150 | 3 | 3 |
| Pro | RM399/month | 1,000 | 10 | Unlimited |
| Advanced | RM599/month | 2,500 | 10 | Unlimited |
| Enterprise | Custom | More than 2,500 | Not stated | Not stated |
Pricing was read on the vendor's pricing page on 4 November 2026; we did not test the product. The page says annual billing saves 20%. Add-ons are RM280 for each extra 1,000 contacts and RM80 for each extra inbox user. A separate managed service is listed at RM4,800 a month at retail, falling to RM3,200 a month on an annual commitment. All plans list "unlimited blasting". Pro and Advanced add what the page calls advanced AI features: self-learning knowledge, reply scoring and red-flag alerts.
Read the free tier honestly. Fifty monthly active contacts and one channel is a trial, not a business plan. A shop that gets fifty distinct customers messaging in a month will hit the ceiling quickly. The Lite plan's 150 contacts is also small. The jump from RM99 to RM399 is steep, so the realistic question is whether your active conversations number in the hundreds or the thousands.
What can't it do, and who should not choose it?
The pages we read show no LINE Official Account, Zalo, PromptPay or QRIS support, and no named Shopee, Lazada or Shopify integration. Absence from a vendor page is not proof it does not exist, but it is what you can rely on today. So:
- Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines sellers should not pick it on current evidence. We found nothing showing localisation outside Malaysia, and LINE is the main chat channel in Thailand.
- Teams that need order data pulled in from a marketplace (checking a Shopee order status inside the chat, for example) have no published integration to rely on.
- Large support teams needing routing rules, SLAs and reporting depth are better served by a dedicated inbox platform.
- Anyone who needs a verified, quoted price for high volumes will have to talk to sales; Enterprise is "custom".
Is the vendor credible?
The Malaysian government's MySTI directory lists Mampu AI Chatbot under Dataverse Sdn Bhd, with a certification number and an indicative price of RM4,800 (which lines up with the managed service price). That confirms a registered local company exists behind the product. The directory page lists a Kuala Lumpur address. Neither the homepage text nor the MySTI page mentions MDEC status, so we make no claim about it.
The homepage also quotes "250+ AI agents built" and "10k+ leads handled". Those are the vendor's own figures and we could not check them independently.
How does it compare with the alternatives?
Mampu AI is an AI-first responder with a free entry point and ringgit pricing by active contact. Wati, SleekFlow and respond.io are the other names worth pricing; we have not verified their current plans for this review, so check each vendor's own pricing page. For a single-country Malaysian shop whose problem is answering FAQs, a lower-cost AI-first tool can be the better fit. For a multi-country business, or one that needs LINE, a broader platform is worth pricing regardless of what Mampu AI costs. So does it solve the WhatsApp overload problem?
For a Malaysian SME whose pain is repetitive first-contact questions, probably yes, as a starting point, and the free plan lets you test it before spending anything. Run the test with your real top ten questions, check how the bot behaves when it does not know an answer, and confirm the handover path works on a live number.
It is a weaker choice if you sell outside Malaysia, depend on LINE, need marketplace order lookups, or expect to exceed a few hundred active contacts a month on a tight budget. The listing details sit on the Mampu AI tool page, and the verdict above would be the same without it.
