Car Dealer Software in Thailand: Used-Car Lot vs Franchise DMS
What Thai car dealers run their business on — สคบ. contracts, hire-purchase submissions, พ.ร.บ. and stock. Which systems fit a used-car lot and which fit a franchise dealer.
Two different products get called "car dealer software" in Thailand and they do not compete. An independent used-car lot (เต็นท์รถ) needs stock by vehicle, สคบ. contract printing, finance submissions and per-car profit — COMMACAR covers that with a published price from THB 3,000 a year, and BossCarSoft covers it with สคบ. printing and finance tracking but quotes on request. An authorised franchise dealer needs something structurally larger: parts, warranty and aftersales reporting up to head office, which is Dealer Vision's territory, while Suparat Motor Car System sells the pieces separately — showroom, hire-purchase and leasing, parts and service centre, and vehicle registration with พ.ร.บ. compulsory insurance. Chat and lead capture is a separate layer again; that is covered in the LINE OA guide.

SEA Operational Reasoning
The dividing line is not company size, it is obligation. A used-car lot owns its stock outright, sells it once, and its paperwork burden is the สคบ. contract that Thailand's Office of the Consumer Protection Board prescribes for used-vehicle sales, plus the hire-purchase submission to whichever lender the buyer uses. Software for that has to know a vehicle individually — reconditioning cost, days held, referrer paid, margin on this car — because that is where the money is made or lost. A franchise dealer carries obligations to the brand instead: parts stock the distributor expects to be reported, warranty jobs, service-performance figures flowing up to head office. Those cannot be bolted onto a lot system, which is why Dealer Vision builds head-office-to-dealer communication into the platform itself. Suparat sits across both by selling separate modules, and is the only vendor in this set covering vehicle registration and พ.ร.บ. compulsory motor insurance — Thai workflows with no foreign equivalent, which is precisely why imported dealership software does not get used here. Pricing transparency in this category is poor: of the four systems reviewed, only COMMACAR publishes figures, and its own table interleaves two tier sets, so confirm which band applies before budgeting. One vendor found in search, WeCarDealer, turned out to be a parked domain and is deliberately not listed.

The questions operators actually ask.
What is the cheapest car dealer software in Thailand?
COMMACAR is the only system in this category publishing figures, with annual tiers starting at THB 3,000. Every other vendor reviewed — BossCarSoft, Dealer Vision and Suparat — quotes on request. Read COMMACAR's table carefully: it presents a THB 3,000–5,000 set and a THB 36,000–56,000 set against branch and vehicle-count limits, and the mapping is ambiguous as displayed.
Which software prints สคบ. contracts for used-car sales?
BossCarSoft generates the สคบ. contract form directly from the vehicle record. This matters because the Office of the Consumer Protection Board prescribes the contract format for used-vehicle sales in Thailand, and general inventory or POS software does not produce it — lots that use generic software keep a parallel Word template.
Do I need a DMS or a used-car lot system?
It depends on obligation, not size. If you are an authorised dealer reporting parts, warranty and aftersales to a brand or distributor, you need a DMS such as Dealer Vision. If you buy cars, recondition them and sell them yourself, a lot system such as COMMACAR or BossCarSoft fits and a DMS will over-serve you at a much higher price.
What handles พ.ร.บ. and vehicle registration?
Of the systems reviewed, only Suparat sells a module for vehicle registration, insurance and พ.ร.บ. compulsory motor insurance. This is one of the clearest reasons Thai dealerships run local software: registration and พ.ร.บ. workflows have no equivalent in imported dealership products.
Where does chat and lead capture fit?
It is a separate layer. None of these systems is a chat platform, and none of the LINE OA tools is a dealer management system. A dealership typically runs both — the lot or DMS for stock, paperwork and money, and a LINE OA tool such as Readyplanet R-CRM for routing showroom enquiries to a named consultant.
